CRAFTSMAN V20 Cordless Reciprocating Saw (CMCS350B) - Powerful & Lightweight for DIY Projects, Wood Cutting, and Home Renovations

Oddly enough, I have both, this Brushless version, as well as Craftsman's cheaper "brushed" motor version which came in a kit with other of their brushed motor tools.I do think that this Brushless Craftsman reciprocating saw is, OVERALL, a good deal and design with plenty of oomph FOR THE AVERAGE HOMEOWNER. A PRO will be a bit frustrated... the MAIN reason why is that neither of the Craftsman reciprocating saws have an adjustable (inward/outward) foot. I personally am frustrated by this lack of thought on behalf of the designers. It's like it is one way they could make it cheaper so maybe they could steer you to their higher-end DeWalt saw. (Stanley/Black & Decker make both)WHY IS THIS IMPORTANT?? Because you use the foot to stablilize the saw against whatever it is you are cutting and so, BECAUSE THE SAW HAS A 1 INCH STROKE, only the segment of the blade that is nearest the foot gets used. A contractor..... I was one in my younger days, back when corded saws were all there were..... will move the foot out a bit once that segment of the blade gets worn out... except with this saw, you can't do that!!!!! UGH!!! And so you go through some very expensive blades much quicker. A homeowner who doesn't use a reciprocating saw every day may not care that they buy twice as many blades but a Pro will likely buy a few expensive carbide toothed Diablos. Meh! You decide. :-)Originally, I ordered a SunJoe Chainsaw Tool Only to save money and use the batteries that I have, but it arrived used (or damaged). Also, setup and maintenance seemed a lot for a novice like me. Then, I discovered the reciprocating saw. I did not want to wait for delayed Prime delivery of the SunJoe reciprocating saw and chose the Craftsman 20V reciprocating saw with overnight delivery. I also got a pack of Craftsman blades. It was easy to get started because I watched YouTube videos about the saw and read the online manual before delivery. Product support was excellent. I learned that the whistling/squealing sound (heard more easily on low speed) is a normal part of operation. Also, saw a few more videos and heard the sound on other saws.Love itUsed it once do far so good. Seems strong enough. I like the high and low range. No drop cord.works greatThis Craftsman reciprocating saw is perfect for home use. It has plenty of power for tree trimming and home repair/construction jobs. It appears durable & decently built. If I were working a heavy duty construction site, I would choose some product better suited for that environment. I feel the best feature is easy blade swap out.Got this for my husband for Christmas he loves it! The battery life last a long time and it’s super easy to use even I can use it!Great saw for quick jobs. I probably wouldn’t use it as an everyday on the job saw but around house for those projects that need this, it’s great. Lightweight and easy blade change.A los 8 días de uso se daño la sierra. Has lots of power and yet it is light enough to hold with one hand. Good price a bit comes with a charger and 4.0amp battery which you really need for a cutting tool. I am very pleased.Comes with a 4 amp hour battery that nearly justifies the price by itself. Solid unit, just sawed a dead freezer in half in under a minute, haven't had any issues.
