Have a couple Dewalt 20V drills already. Had one job I really needed a sawsall for. Was tempted to just go get a cheap corded one that would have been 1/4 the price since don't know when I will need it again. Decided no, get one that I already have the batteries for and cordless. Glad I did. Got the job done with only one battery, and not having to mess with cords is just always easier. This thing is compact to get into tight spaces but LOT's of power. Well worth the extra cost. Next time I have use for it again I will be glad I paid more and got this.Held off on battery tools for a long time, but now I'm a fan. Dewalt battery life and tool quality are great for the price point. Not going to debate which color tool is the best. I love red but DeWALT works great.I mean it is a dewalt, what more do I need to say?must buy productThe tool is comfortable to use the handle angle is pretty good for extended use. It is a beast when used with the correct blade. Price is a little steep but it is a DeWalt quality tool. The old unit (30+ years has brushes) finally stopped working. Decided to add a battery version and very happy. I do not miss the power cord and extension cord!OK - I have 3 acres of trees and do the light trimming and pruning myself. This definitely has more guts than my other wimpy sawsall. I just cut thru cement hardy board - no problemo. Makes my life MUCH easier and the added benefit of being able to saw flush comes into play more frequently than you'd think!I have used the DXS380 reciprocating saw for almost six years as a part time contractor. It has never let me down and had twice the power and battery life than my previous Makita saw. After years of trouble free use, I decided it was time to treat myself and upgrade to the Brushless more compact model.I ordered the bare tool because I already have 8 XR batteries (from 1 AH to 5 AH)I was stunned at the feeling of torque it produced once I slammed in a 5AH battery. The ergonomics of the design has also been vastly improved, balance, length, width, and a 4 position blade clamp are superior to the previous version.I powered throw a 4x4 in half the time, and it had a reduced amount of vibration and heat in the tool. While I haven't put it through a full days work yet, I am extremely impressed by its superior performance and feel.I'm sure the batteries life will be much improved because its brushless...but I will edit my review if I come across any issues. I would recommend spending the extra money on this saw over the older brushed model. If it lasts half as long as my old one, I will be very happy. Certainly the best bang for your buck in the weekend warrior, handy man grade tools( I would even call these Professional grade)Super fast delivery! Got it in a day with Amazon Prime. When I opened the box and took out the saw I noticed something wrong. The blade clamp was not installed on a 90 degree. I called Dewalt to ask if there was a way I could fix it. Was on hold forever and finally chose the option for them to call me back when someone was available. Never got a call back so I returned it. Not sure if I would buy another Dewalt product if their Quality Control is so bad to let something that defective leave their factory!Great saw, but really didnt last long. Minimally used, perhaps once every 2 weeks. Looks brand new on the outside, but completely stopped working. Took it apart to try to repair, but all components are sealed, making it impossible to change the trigger assembly without having to cut and splice the wires (in which theres about 12 of them)Step up your game Dewalt, allot of guys are switching to Milwaukee. The only DeWalt product out more than 20 l own that is no good, my Mastercraft 14.4 from 20 years ago was & is better. As some of the reviews clearly warned me, IT VIBRATES. I am sure your fillings will be out if you have any and you use this. After small jobs like cutting trough4-5 2x4 it feels like your whole body is rocking. Get one of the other DeWalt modelsGot to say I’m a little disappointed in this tool, as a plumber I use a reciprocating saw lots to cut pipe and rod, and this saw vibrates a lot more than milwaukees one handed sawzallI think it’s overpriced tooAs a DeWalt fan I got to say I’m pretty disappointedHopefully the atomic reciprocating saw works better when it’s released..
