But good for your healthI've only been taking these for a short few days but I just want to start now and I'll update later if I notice an improvement. I have PCOS and excess androgen (testosterone of 187 when tested in 2007 but symptoms have increased since then and after two kids 3 pregnancies) hormones and unwanted facial hair. So among many other supplements I already take for my PCOS and infertility I thought this would also be of benifit. Hopfully it also will be the boost for conceiving this month after ATTC for the past two years. Only new symptom I've noticed is I feel more tired but I'm not sure yet if that's the saw palmeto or my lack of sleep lately. I'm on CD 6 and AF is gone so it could be just that catching up with me. I'll update in a few weeks. HTH someone with my same issues.Update: 8-7-15I just wanted to say that I've got new symptoms that I can't relate to anything else. My sleeping habits have improved greatly but accompanied with plain weird dreams, lol. I've been able to wake up earlier in the morning and no insomnia at all! That's huge since I've had uncontrollable insomnia for years. Melatonin helped on occasion but I didn't want it to become ineffective or to take that long term. (I will still take it if needed but the way things are going looks like I wont need it) This is an added and unexpected benefit to saw palmetto.Update: 8/24/15I'm now 7dpo and peroid is due on the 30th. Fully expect it because I don't feel pg but the change/IMPROVEMENT to my sleep schedule alone is reason to keep taking this even though I still have facial hair. It might be slow going but I'm pretty sure my facial hair has decreased since first starting saw palmetto. I might increase my dose to see if results improve. I'm just getting impatient. Still greatful for all the possitive effects saw palmetto has had on me.I bought this supplement in hopes of slowing hair low a bit. Only used for a month so I didn't take long enough to know if it was working. I've always had moderate high blood pressure with a high 50's to low 60's pulse. The other day I was feeling like crap so I grabbed my wrist cuff blood pressure monitor to see where I was at and was shocked by a slowwww pulse of 43. I figured it took a bad reading even thou my pressure looked right so I switch it to the other wrist and I got a reading of 39. After downing some caffeine I started thinking of any thing different I started doing and realized I started taking saw paletto so I jumped on the net and discovered there are a lot of potential side effects. After reading through the list I started to remember that my sex drive has been way lower than normal. Now that the saw palmetto is out of my system my pulse is normal and sex drive is back in overdrive where it was before.Anyway here is a list of side effects pulled from [...]weakness or fainting;black, bloody, or tarry stools;coughing up blood or vomit that looks like coffee grounds;pain or swelling in your breasts or testicles;chest pain;fast, slow, or uneven heart rate;easy bruising or bleeding; ornausea, stomach pain, loss of appetite, itching, dark urine, clay-colored stools, jaundice (yellowing of the skin or eyes).Less serious side effects may include:nausea, vomiting, stomach pain;diarrhea or constipation;bad breath;headache;dizziness;sleep problems (insomnia);muscle pain;depressed mood; orincreased or decreased interest in sex;I use these with Pygeum so I don't know if it's just these or the combination or just the Pygeum, but im very happy with the results! WAY less bathroom trips at night after about a week of use. Getting a full night's sleep now with no bathroom interruptions and it's great!Like many supplements this is being used as a preventative, so you really don't know if it's working unless something happens to show it didn't work. However, I did notice a welcome but unexpected result. It seems in order to do it's preventative thing it has to get rid of a bad hormone - which in turn may increase free T. Not sure if this is what happened, but something changed. As always - do your own research and form your on conclusions. Also - stick with the standardized extract and not crushed berries & stems.I began suffering from mild BPH a few years ago. This is the only supplement I have ever tried that works. I still get up once at night (for obvious reasons), but during the day the urgency and frequency to "go" has diminished greatly. I highly recommend trying this product. I noticed an effect after only a few days. I take one at night with dinner. This product is more expensive than some other brands, but perhaps there is a reason for that.UPDATE:After using this product for a couple months, I confess the problem (BPH) then get worse. I had to discontinue using the product. I hope this works for others. I wish it would've continued working for me.Since I bought Saw Palmeto online, a day doesn't go by without me getting at least 1 erection dysfunction text on my phone. My husband had a PSA that was a little suspect...We took all of the medical precautions and once finding out that there were no issues; we turned to this supplement. He just had a medical physical and all numbers were good. The doctor has recommended that he continue using these but take them in the evening vs. the morning.
