Product Description

For a perfect cut, the saw blade and rip fence must be dead parallel to the left hand miter gauge slot. The most reliable and accurate way to do this is with a dial indicator and a tool that rides perfectly down the center of the miter slot. The new Woodpeckers Saw Gauge is engineered to expertly satisfy this need. It's the first alignment tool that automatically adjusts to the width of the miter slot through the use of three precision ground steel pins. Whether the slot is 5/8-inch wide like many older saws or 3/4-inch wide like most current models, this patent pending design ensures a perfect fit and smooth travel up and down the center of the miter slot. No tools, not adjustment, just a perfect fit.

Product Features

Automatically adjusts to the width of the miter slot

Includes new lockable, plastic case

Initially I told myself I wasn't going to spend the money on the red brand. However after buying a cheaper gauge setup that was also red and having it not work I bit the bullet and got this thing. It simple to use the only thing that can move is the gauge, but keep the pivot screw tight and it won't move. Even though its great I think its a little more expensive than it should be.I couldn't wait for this to arrive, I've been using a saw that I KNEW had issues. While I got this tool for my new Sawstop arriving next week, I couldn't wait to see just how bad my Kobalt jobsite saw was, and this just exposed how dangerously it truly was!Unpacking it, I realized some of the bag protection was actually stuck inside the screw, not a big deal though. It was packed great, no damage, obviously brand new with no issues. Now; onto the good stuff... Never having used one of these, it went without a breeze. I put this on my Kobalt jobsite table saw and first, measured the miter slot to the blade. The blade turned out it was "toe out", about 11/1000" to the left of the saw. Better that than toe in though. Then, I decided to measure the miter slot to the fence. This came out with a huge difference every time I locked the fence down... go figure. The fence on these saws lock down in the front, then the back, what do you expect though right? You get what you pay for.Moral of the story here; This tool confirmed, my jobsite table saw was really dangerous! If it weren't for a riving knife, it was and true built kick-back delivering machine!!! Thanks Woodpecker, this tool is something I wish I had a looong time ago!I never used anything like this before and I was able to callibrate my new Grizzly table saw to within 2/10,000th's of an inch in about 4 minutes (and now that I've done it once, I could do it in half that time).I read several articles on how to set up my new table saw manually and it gave me a headache--this tool (plus the master plate) REALLY made it stupid easy to do, and with much better results than I could have gotten eye-balling it or measuring it.I also agree with previous posters--it's heavy, well constructed, and feels like a solid/quality tool. There is nothing flimsy about this tool. The hard plastic case it comes in is excellent for keeping it safe (not everyone is reporting getting the case, but the one I ordered had the case and it's a must have to keep this precision tool safe). My father, who has been doing woodworking for decades, was on hand when I used the tool for the first time and he was amazed at how easy it was to get the table set up using the plate and this gauge--he wants to borrow it and see how good his saws at home are using his measuring and eyeballing technics.I'm extremely pleased with this tool and do not regret my purchase at all--I would recommend this tool to anyone interested in doing precision work on any machine that can be calibrated.Expensive and not all that great. Good quality. They came out with a fancier set now. I doubt that many people would need this. This tool helped me get a true cut on my saw.Very nice but the accuracy still has a lot to do with the operator. I can still get several different readings with the same setting. They are all still with in a thousands of an inch so I guess its ok. I kind of wish I would have spent the extra and gotten the 2.0 version now.Hi precision instrument works great alows you to set zero at any point simple and easy to useAnother home run from woodpeckers. USA made and helped me align my fence in record time. Saved me maby burn marks. Not all mitre slots are the same width and this design makes it more flexible. No need for extra bit or making something up. Also allows for use with table saws that have a larger distance from the mitre slot to the blade. Quick and easy setup.Awesome quality! Very accurate and easy to set up and use. It came in a very nice case with foam protection cut to fit the components exactly. Woodpeckers have created yet another superb product. I was able to tune my table saw to within 0.001" to eliminate any burning for rip or cross-cuts.This tool is great. Simple to use and very very accurate. I used it on my new table saw and got it down to .002 of an inch. And that's because I didn't care about getting it to .001. Alignment was easy and when you are very close to being perfect, it eliminates burning of your material. Very happy with this product and would recommend it.This is overkill and I don't mind one bit. It's designed to true up saw blades and fences to the parralel slots but with a simple under carriage it will true the vertical plane as well.Just love woodpecker tools
