Blazes through brick and mortar. I need to cut a hole in part of my foundation for a 6" drain pipe through THREE (yes, three) layers of brick. This particular bit is 6 5/8", which almost perfectly matched the OD of the pipe. The depth is ALMOST as deep as one brick, so when you bottom-out, then just pull out the brick pieces and your centerline bit hole is already set. Drilled a nice, clean hole through 1800's brick while keeping surrounding mortar intact and undisturbed. You will need a fairly serious hammerdrill, I have a Dewalt 18V XRP hammerdrill and it did the job, but an AC powered one would have been a little better. The bit cleaned out the the brick/mortar dust very well, a nice overall design. It will slowly get through granite, too.Best value i could find. Too bad it doesn't come with the hex bar and you need to order that separately. Does the job well cutting through wonderboard for recessed lighting. Matches with https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00LL94S7A/ref=cm_cr_ryp_prd_ttl_sol_2I had bought this hole saw for a test to see if their claims would hold up.I cut a lot of MDF , fiber cement and some plastics in my business. This saw out performed any hole saw i have used and impressed me with the speed and ease of cutting.I will be buying more of these for sure!I used this one for boring through plywood. Worked good but it requires a dedicated arbor. This is the hole saw that I ordered the Ist time.worked greatWe have been using their fantastic hole saw system for about three years in a pro cabinet shop. When the arbor bits started snapping off at the shank, we had a welder re-attach them. Finally, we decided to buy replacements from Profit. Turns out that the system has been re-designed and does not work with the original quick-release system that we invested in. There's no contact information on their website for us to resolve any compatibility questions or warranty issues. This lack of manufacturer support and limited distribution sources makes this a deal-breaker for us. Bosch makes a similar (but not as quick-release) carbide hole saw product for about half the price. It makes better business sense to take that route. It would be our preference to go US made, but when user-support gets thrown out the window, what's the difference?
