Premium Custom Leather Sheath for Bahco Laplander & Silky Saws - Durable Outdoor Knife & Tool Protection for Camping, Hiking, and Bushcraft

I don’t write a lot of reviews but this is an exception. Today, it seems quality is not what you expect too much anymore, when you receive items. This is a quality item!I purchased to carry a Silky Gomboy 240 folding saw on my hip for quick and easy access. This sheath is an amazing piece of kit you’ll want to add to protect you saw. When I first place the Silky saw in the leather sheath, I had to use a lot of force to get it all the way in and seated. Squeezing the sides allowed that for the first few inserts of the saw. It came saying it had been covered with mink oil but my new leather sheath was way to tight for my liking. So I slathered mink oil over it and while helping it needed to be softer. So Instile some of wife’s cocoa butter and it soaked several coats into the leather amazingly deep. Then Ibwent back with a heavy coat of mink oil again inside the sheath and out. A long handled wooden spoon is great for getting it all the way down inside the leather sheath. Now the leather is as soft as a favorite old comfy leather couch! I let the saw stay inside to form the now soft leather and it worked like a charm!So I am impressed with the leather thickness, the stitching, the generous size belt loop, (would probably take up to 3” belt), the color which I would call mahogany, and the way my Silky Gomboy 240 sets snuggly in the sheath. I love bushcraft and finding quality items I know will last my life and probably through my grandkids life is what I look for. This is one of those items. I pair my Silky Gomboy with a ESEE knife and those two items will do 95% of work for me in the field, from shelter building to processing wood. A good saw is only as good as the sheath you protect it in and keep from losing it or setting it in the mud or water.
